This is off-topic for Janda, but there is not a Pochop board.

It would appear that there are two groups of Pochops, the Moravian ones and the Bohemian ones. That said, they only were about 20 miles apart, even though in different countries.

My Pochops are Moravian, came from Kaly and Dolni Loucky.

The other Pochops in Nebraska appear to have come from Dlouhy, which may actually be one of those towns so near the border that it might have belonged to Bohemia and Moravia at different times in its history.

According to Ancestry, Pochop is slang (Think Curly, Moe, Shemp...). But the word "pochopeni" means understanding or sympathy. So pochop could be a sympathetic fellow. If you are using a dictionary, remember that "ch" is a letter, comes after "h" and before "i".

See another post for details about one of the Bohemian Pochops.
