Robert John “Bob” Janda, the son of Donald J. and Dorothy M. (Gilsdorf) Janda was born on November 9, 1957 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. He was baptized at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, NE, and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilber, NE. He attended elementary school at Lawrence until the 2nd grade. His family then moved to Swanton, NE, and then to St. Edward, NE where Bob graduated from St. Edward High School in 1976. Bob attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln until 1980, he then attended University of Nebraska Law School with a Juris Doctorate Degree in Law in 1983.
On February 15, 1980 Bob was united in marriage to Ann Taylor in St. Edward, NE, to this union 3 children: Erin, Steven, and Jordon were born.
Bob married Svitlana Neguch on August 12, 2003 at St. Edward. Bob was the president of the Bank of St. Edward, he was also a practicing attorney.
Bob was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward. He was also a member of the American Bar Association, the Nebraska State Bar, and a past treasurer of the Knights of Columbus. Bob also coached Little League Baseball.
On Wednesday, May 31, 2005, Bob died as the result of an automobile accident near St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 48 years.
He is survived by his wife Svitlana of St. Edward; 3 children: Erin Shanle and husband Scott of Dallas, TX; Steven Janda of Omaha, NE; and Jordon Janda of Columbus, NE; step-daughter Natasha Nequch of St. Edward; grandson Jagger Shanle of Dallas, TX; his parents Donald and Dorothy Janda of St. Edward; brother Donald Janda, Jr. of Charles City, IA; 2 sisters: Cathie Moeller and husband Paul; Connie Wilson and husband Jim all of Linoln, NE; along with many other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents.
