My great great grandfather was John Janda who immigrated from the above mentioned area in late 1860's. He died in Philadelphia in the early 1920's. I'm trying to locate a region or town in this European area that he may have immigrated from. So far, no luck with Immigration Database info into the US, but did find a Joseph Janda who arrived into Baltimore in about 1868. John's oldest son Joseph who was born in about 1866 arrived in the US at about the age of 2 years old in 1868. John was married to Mary. Family info indicates her maiden name was Crotcha...but I do not think this is accurate. All Catholic baptismal information around her multiple children spelled her maiden name differently; I would venture to say it sounded like "Crotcha" but could have been Krachner or any close variation.
