Hi I have some answers for you. So Francois-Xavior was born Oct 4 1772 in La Baie du Febvre, QU. He Married Marguerite Precourt on Nov 6 1792 in the same place. He died dec 29 1860, same place. Marguerite Precourt was born to Gabriel Precourt and Catherine Gauthier on Dec 4 1774, same place. She died June 13 1844 in the same place. They had 10 children and I can provide you with more detailed information on them if you like. Hope this helps and I would try the Parish records for Quebec wich is all now on line.

hi i just read you post and i reconized the names, so i dubble checked it in my family's copy of the Janelle Genealogy. My great-grandfather Harley Wilfred Janelle is the Grandson of Francois-Octave Janelle and Marie-Anne Fogarty through thier son William Denis and his wife Minnie-Amanda Johnson. i hope that helps. if you repliey i can answer some more questions.

Looking for family members, who are related to the Janelle/Fogarty family, who may be living in the United States.

Octave Janelle remarried Mary Ann Fogarty on November 11,
1878 in Richmond, Quebec, Canada. Her parents are:
James Fogarty and Mary Delany of Richmond, Quebec as well. Octave Janelle's parents are: Pierre Janelle and Marguerite Vallee of Baie de Febvre, Quebec.

In 1878, after the marriage took place, both Octave Janelle and Mary Ann Fogarty went back to the
United States to live. The youngest child went with them.

Josephine and Earnest Janelle stayed behind to lived with their Aunt, Anges Janelle and her husband Thomas Jean Samson. in 1899 Josephine Janelle married Stanislas Desmarais in Richmond, Quebec. She had 6 children.
2 of the 6 died before the age of 5.

Previously Octave Janelle married Marie Delphine Bedard
on June 21, 1870 in Richmond Quebec. Together they had
3 children. The are as follows:

1)Marie Ann Josephine Janelle - B. March 23, 1871 D. 1965
2)Francois Joseph Janelle - B. January 29, 1873
3)Joseph Earnest Janelle - B. September 27, 1874 D. 1942

I understand - by word of mouth that Francois Joseph Janelle died around 1959/1960 and is buried in a military
graveyard in the state of Michigan.

Note: Both Josephine and Earnest are buried in Saint
Bibiane's Cemetery in Richmond, Quebec.

Looking for JANELLE/FOGARTY.

Octave Janelle remarried on November 11, 1878 in Richmond, Quebec, Canada to Mary Ann Fogarty. Her parents are:
James Fogarty and Mary Delany of Richmond, Quebec.

Octave Janelle's parents at the time of the marriage was
Pierre Janelle and Marguerite Vallee from Baie du Febvre, Quebec.

After the marriage to place in Richmond, Quebec, both
Octave Janelle and Mary Ann Fogarty took the youngest child with them to the United States of America.
To the state of Michigan.

Note: Octave Janelle's first wife was Delphine Bedard. Together they had 3 children. 1 - Josephine Marie Janelle,
2 - Earnest Joseph Janelle and 3 - Joseph Octave Janelle
The mother, Delphine Bedard died in 1875 at the age of 25.

These are the only pieces of information I have.

I replied to your other post but now that I see you posted his wifes name was Yvonne I know we have the same person. He had 3 sons and 5 daughters and sons were Peter, Edward, and Frank now I know Eddie didnt have kids and I am Peters Only daughter so you Father must be Frank?

I found a Toussaint Janelle born in St Sylvere Quebec on 1 Nov 1900 son of Joseph Levis Janelle and Emeline Picher. record doesn't go beyond 1928. If this is the same person he married later.
1930 US Census reports a Tousant Janelle and Elsie living in Bronx NY.
That's all I have. If you want to trace this Janelle further back check my public tree.

Seeking any information, only have family stories at this stage. Elsie (my gt aunt) was born around 1904. We know she moved East (Canada or USA) married Tousant and had a daughter Omaline (not sure on spelling). Elsie won a swimming competition around 1930. Believe they lived around New York for a while - supposedly running a 'speak easy'! Any info would be fantastic.

About 2/3's of the book is written in French - though there are about 100 pages towards the end for the "American Cousins". Hello, over the past few years I have been told that we have relatives amoung the Objibwa and Chichasaw Nations. Just tring to find out if this is true. I would welcome any information anyone has.

There is a very nice Ojibwa person here in Milwaukee who claims to be related through my Grandfather, John Thomas Janette.

They had several children, one of which is my grandmother: Jeannette Marie-Blanche Phenix/Phoenix. She married Joseph Romeo Dumais.................I've been told that somewhere on my mom's side are full blooded indians, but we're not sure who........sound familiar??????

My grandmother was Louise. She passed away in 1976. Helen & Rene are still alive. Louise had 9 or 11 children, most of whom have passed away, but I do have some information on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren. If I can be of any help let me know.

Virginia Lee Martin Janelle, 72 years of age died on Tuesday, February 3, in the year 2004 with family at her bedside at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego. She was from a second generation San Diego family, her great-grandfather William Andrews delivered the speech for San Diego ' s first retiring Fire Captain. She was born on October 3, 1931 in Seattle, Washington, while the family was there on a job. On return to San Diego she moved to North Park and was still living in the house that was built by her great-grandparents. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Joseph T.L. Janelle on July 22, 1961 and her daughter Linda Diane Comer who died on March 17, 1994. Her survivors include son Joseph Janelle who was her primary caretaker at her North Park home. Daughter Carol Nelson and husband Tim of Spokane, Washington, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Swan and husband Russell, as well as a niece Vivian Murillo and husband Frank. Family would like to invite friends for a celebration of Virginia ' s life at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 Hometown Buffet located at 5881 University Ave. in San Diego. It is believed that my 5th great-grandmother
Juanita (Janell?) was a Native American.
She married William Capel (Capell),
and they had more than 5 children.
One of them Samuel Capel(s) married
Mary Cole (possibly Native American, also).
They were my 4th greatparents.
Their son William Janell Caple, Sr.
married Mary Margaret Riley. They were
my 3rd greatgrandparents. I descend

They would be my gr-gr-grandparents. And her parents were Antoine Janelle and Marie Perron. Would you have the list of there children with dates.. Any info would really be appreciated.
