Olga Janiak, 86, Kenosha, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Grande Prairie Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born on Dec. 4, 1920, in Two Rivers, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Marie (Johnson) Rosland.
She married Chester Janiak on Feb. 28, 1948, they moved to Green Bay in December of 1964.
Olga worked at Western Printing and then at J.C. Penney & Co. in Elmwood Plaza in Racine before they moved to Green Bay. Olga joined many clubs but especially enjoyed craft painting. She was a choir member in her church, she loved dancing and singing and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved being with her grandchildren and taking them to Green Bay Amusement Park. Most of all Olga loved to go shopping even if it was only window shopping.
Survivors include her three daughters, Lee Ann (Dave) Buckau, Sun City, Ariz.; Lynn (Tom) Cramer, Burlington; Laurel Sabey, Camp Douglas; her sisters and brothers-in-law, June Rosland, Sheboygan; Eva Garbarek, Racine; Emily (Henry) Arndt, Sturtevant; Irene Ruk, Racine; Adele Spieker, Racine; Leo Janiak, Kenosha; Matthew (Betty) Janiak, Sun City, Calif.; Lawrence Janiak, Sturtevant; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by cousins in Norway.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; two sons, Neil Rechtermann and Micheal Janiak; two brothers, Aurthur Rosland, Norman Rosland; and one sister, Lillian Hartgen; one son-in-law, Edward Sabey; brothers-in-law, James Hartgen, Frank Janiak, Clarence Garbarek, Henry Ruk, Eugene Spieker; two sisters-in-law, Rose Janiak and Stephanie Janiak.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Grande Prairie Nursing Home for the special care given to Olga.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Union Grove (located between KR and Hwy. 11 on Hwy. 45). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be held on Monday at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Cemetery in Green Bay.
