Your grandfather sounds like he might be a Bill Janus I have a picture of in my family album. I think this Bill Janus was killed in an accident whild in the Coast Guard. This is my late husbands family. I know my husban talked to some Janus cousins in Kansas City Kansas or Kansas City Mo. My husbands grandmother was Caroline Beatrice Janus and she had abrothe Carl that came to America. They were in the New York or New Jersey area.
