If you have any info, photos, stories, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your help, Jesse

I also have a Jaqua (and various spellings of) family tree chart done around 1930. It was just given to me as I am doing the family research for Jaqua. Our famly is spelled as mentioned and from southern Michigan, some in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. My problem is I can not connect us into any on my tree or your data base.
The oldest member of our tree is Charles Johnson Jaqua born 1822 NY. His wife was Laura Louisa Rounds 1826 Jerusalem, NY. Can anyone help me connect to the tree...that would make my day! thanks

Hi,
I know you sent this message 10 years ago but I somehow just saw it. I go back to Ebenezer (Jokins/Jaqua/Jacques, etc) He was m. to Lydia Bundy in 1716 in Rhode Island. I'm hoping there's proof of Lydia's parents, if those exist. In the Jaqua family, my ancestor, Hannah Jacqua/Jacques was m. to Charles Tupper (b. 1743). IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO ON THESE, I'LL SURELY APPRECIATE IT. MANY THANKS. GAIL. You can contact me directly if you wish: gtoe@aol.com

Jakway, Jakways and Jaqua

I have a question for all the Jakways/Jaqua's out there! My husband's 4th great grandfather was Daniel Jakways (1756 - 1832) his wife was Olive Lawrence Jakways/Jaqua (1760 - 1843) this I know from Daniel Jakways Revolutionary War Pension records. Also in the records was a list of all of his children, one being Daniel Jaqua (1792 - 1841) my husbands 3rd great grandfather. These 3 Jakways/Jaqua are buried at East Canaan Cemetery in North Canaan, CT along with 2 other Jakways/Jaqua's - Juloa (1794 - 1828) who is also a daughter of Daniel Sr and Betsy (1763 - 1834) I am a puzzled because on all of their graves "Indian" is marked! Any thoughts or comments would be very helpful! Thanks to all!

Hi Mike,
Just saw your post today and it's 8 years after you posted. Hope you still read these. I seek Ebenezer Jacques/Jakway/Jokins/ Jaqua m. to Lidyah Bundy in 1716. I think that family goes back to Thomas Jakeway of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island records I need were, of coure, lost in a fire and I have only tiny pieces of it. Aaron Jaqua/Jacques is also in the picture. His daughter, Hannah, m. Charles Tupper. Don't know if any of these Jacqes/Jaquas are on your father's list but would appreciate if you let me know if they are. Thank you so much for offering, even if mine aren't on the list. Good to pass along what we each have, isn't it? Gail gtoe@aol.com

Oh, Cheryl, I would be very interested in sharing info. Are you by chance Jackie Jaqua's daughter? It is driving me crazy. Where do you live? I can let you know where most of the Bundock's are if you are interested in that part of it. I started working on Grandmother's genealogy as I was getting no place with Rennie. Do you have anything on the Bundock family or do I start with Nora? Keep me posted.
By the way, if you want to make this exchange between the two of us, my e-mail is bgs1948@hotmail.com. Okay.

Who is your mom?

Cousin Betty

Please feel free to drop me an email - I will share what I have - and hopefully be able to add something to what you have already.
Hi Janine
I am your second cousin. Donald Rex Jaqua was my Uncle and a brother to my mother. I believe you are Sheldon's daughter? I was shocked to learn of both of the boy's deaths so young but they worked a hard life. I have found Rennie's father (Mason) and his siblings. A lot of Grandma's siblings are buried in Sacramento where the pottery business was going.

Keep on looking.
Hello Betty,
It's nice to hear from someone who is also researching our branch of the Jaqua family tree. I'm afraid I've found little about Rennie Lee. You've probably already found this much, but here it is in case you haven't. According to the 1910 census, he was born in 1871 or 1872 in Indiana, as were both his parents. This fits with what my grandfather, Donald R. Sr., knew. He said that his dad claimed they were "Hoosiers", but that is all my grandfather knew. Unfortunately, when I went to the 1880 census for Indiana, I was unable to locate any names consistent with Rennie or Lee born around 1872.
Please let me know how your research is going. Also, I haven't gone forward, so I don't know which of my grandfather's siblings is your direct ancestor. Good luck!
Janine

Union City, Indiana Times-Gazette, July 16, 1942

This front page contains a picture entitled, "Their ages total 270 years." The picture caption reads, "Shown above, left to right are Ernest P. Jaqua, 87, Mrs. Elizabeth Jaqua Stakebake, 94, and Edwin S. Jaqua, 89.

Mrs. Stakebake and her brothers were born in New Madison, Darke county, Ohio. At an early age they accompanied their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jaqua to Winchester [Indiana], of which Mrs. Stakebake and Edwin Jaqua are still residents.
Ernest P. Jaqua, a resident of Aurora, Mo., has spent the past two months with relatives in Winchester. He left recently to spend some time with his nephew, Will H. Jaqua, at Tipton before returning to his home. He had a pleasant visit in Winchester, Portland, Salamonia, Union City and Marion. Because he had not been in this section for many years, the many changes which have taken place made it seem to him like a different place.
