I have Thomas George Jaques marr. September Qtr. of 1850 on the FreeBMD website, where Eliza Couldridge appears on the same page. Then in the 1851 census for England I have found Joseph Jaques, occ. baker, with a wife Eliza who fits with what I now of Eliza Coudridgem born about 1830 at Hackney Middlese. Living right next door is Jemima Couldridge. Going back a census I have in 1841 Jemima Couldridge with her husband Thomas and amongst her children is an Eliza of the right age, born about 1830ish.
Forward again to the 1861 census and there appears Thomas G. Jaques, occ. baker, with wife Eliza. Also in the 1861 is the same Jemima Couldridge with two grandchildren Henry and Frederick Jaques staying with her.
I think that the name Joseph Jaques in the 1851 entry is just an enumerators mis-transcription when copying from the schedules into his books, and that the man should be Thomas G. Jaques, perhaps the name was hard to decipher.
All in all I think that this is the same Eliza Couldridge, later Jaques, throughout the census and the marraige in 1850. I have an interest in the family of Jemima Couldridge. If you share the interest then please contact me.
