Cresencio Jaramillo, known to everyone as "CRES" of Citrus Heights, CA passed away November 20, 2012. He was born in Roswell, NM October 20, 1931 to Andrea and Faustino Jaramillo, who preceded him in death. He was predeceased also by brother, Danny Jaramillo.
In 1955 Cres married his high school sweetheart, Katherine Garcia, a marriage that lasted 57 years.
Cres served our country as a Navy seaman and was awarded several commendations for his service that included National Defense Service medal, United Nations Service medal. Cres retired in January 1989 from USAF, (Civil Service) McClellan Air logistics command (ALC) as a wood craftsman . His tenure spanned over 30 years.
Cres loved his family dearly and was a dedicated "grandpa" with carpools, school projects, weekend visits and helping to shape their lives.
Cres will be remembered for his willingness to help a neighbor at a moment's notice Al Pocoroba and the Vecino a very special neighbors that were like sons.
His interests included bowling, fishing and hobbies included carpentry and he is most proud of the tree house. Cres dedicated his life to help raise six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Cres was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Cres volunteered thousands of hours with Holy Family, Bingo and Knights of Columbus. Cres was very proud of his involvement with the GI Forum in Roswell, New Mexico.
His is survived by his loving, wife Kathy Jaramillo of their home, two sons, Larry Jaramillo and his wife, Maria of San Antonio, TX; Mark Jaramillo and his wife, Jackie; one daughter, Theresa Ford and her husband, Bill of Potomac, MD; seven sisters and two brothers. Sisters are Sara McCurley of Grand Junction, CO; Martha Sanchez, Albuquerque, Virgie Romero, Juanita Ramirez, Cecilia Acosta and Vicky Gonzales, all of Roswell; Carmen Chavez of Albuquerque. Brothers are Salvador Jaramillo of Roswell and Faustino Jaramillo from El Paso, TX. Grandchildren are Natasha Warner, Mathew and Jeffrey Ford; Amanda, Shelby and Anthony Jaramillo.
Great grandchildren are Jordan and Tyler McVean, and Kolby Warner. Step grandchild, Jacob Jaramillo.
And his special house companion, "buddy" the family dog that will miss the long morning walks.
A rosary and mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, rosary on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 with Reverend Fr. Jason Clark celebrant. A family burial for Cres Jaramillo will take place in Church. Roswell, NM at a later date. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Holy Family Catholic
