Hello Brandi
I have been on ancestry.com since day one trying to locate my step family. My Mother was Clara Jarreau from New Roads, Louisiana. She had a bad marriage, ran away to Chicago, married my Father and I was born.
I have been searching for years for her 4 kids, one was Paul and Mike Jarreau, adopted by the Netters Family and went to Innis High School in Innis, LA. Clara also had 2 daughters, Amy or Annie and Lorraine. I have no information on them. My Mother had a Brother named Adam or Joe, who was married to a Leah David/Daveed. They had 8 kids. I have some phone numbers with the help of a class mate of my Mother.
I don't know if your Paul is my Step Brother, but it sure would be nice to meet some family and to know what really happened, so long ago.

Escabedoc@aol.com
My Mother was from New Roads, Louisiana. She had a brother named Roy and Paul and one another, that I do not know the name of.
Her Father was Herbert and mother's name, I can't remember.
She was married and when her Husband died, his family took her 5 kids, placed them in Audy Homes. She left and with a male friend, came North to Chicago, where she met and married my Father. As I was growing up, she spoke broken French/English and it was hard to understand some of the words that she said.
I had tried for years by mail and phone and now the internet to find my relatives and step brothers and sisters, to no avail.
Apparently the Elders do not want to talk to a Northener and the young of today, really do not care.
Mother's name was Clara Jarreau.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I am researching this family for my cousins. Their father Clarence was a son of Hermes and Ludie Bizette. I would appreciate any information you can share on his ancestry. Are you related to this branch of the Jarreau family? You may email me directly if you prefer at spwilli@psyber.com
Sharon

I am looking for anything on Valerien Gueho, his wife was Celina Sellers and his father was Paul Gueho. They had eight children. From what I have understood is that they may have come to northern Pointe Coupee Parish from the Fourdouche area. Anything will help. The only son born to this couple never had children, his name was Isadore.

Hello, My past Mother Clara Jarreau was born and lived in Pointe Coupe. She had brothers Roy and John. She Married and had 3 kids that were taken away after her married husband died and his parents disowned her. She had broken English/French and many times it was hard to understand what she was trying to say.
She mentioned Davine and that I think was her Father's name David.
I have been going through Ancestry.com for years and it takes so many days and hours and I seem to get nowheres? I reach some people, but the young ones don't care about history and the elders do not want to talk.

Searching for parents of Hermes Jarreau. His WWI draft registration was filed in West Baton Rouge Parish and lists his birthdate as 10 January 1887 in Hermitage, LA. His place of residence on that record is given as Chamberlin. This document is dated 5 June 1917. I have not been able to locate him in either the 1910 or 1920 census in either Pointe Coupee Parish or West Baton Rouge Parish. He is with his wife and children in the 1930 census in Pointe Coupee Parish.

I, too, am looking to find the ancestors of Neville Jarreau. With him being born in 1825, it is probable that he may have been a slave and assumed the surname Jarreau from the master to whom he belonged. I have researched the Jarreau line quite a bit, but have not yet come across anything that links Neville to one of the Jarreau's I have discovered and linked to the main line. If you have any luck, please pass this information on. I certainly would love to hae it!

He was born 7-8-1909 and died 6-24-1988 in New Roads. Another brother was Aurelie. He was born 12-17-1910 and died 5-26-1939. Clara had a sister named Marie Eve. I have only found that she was born abt 1908.
I would like to get more information about Clara and her family. I have found that she had 2 daughters (Gertrude & Lorraine) but need everything else about them. I know that she had a son Mike that I think was adopted and became a coach/teacher at Innis High School in the mid 60's. I would like to know more about him. I do have some information about two other sons (Paul Joseph & Raymond Clarence).

Can you please provide more information?

hi
thanks, and yes I have seen the big black book on Pointe Coupee. Pretty good!
J.C. Bueche - would that be Clairville? I remembered Herminie's name from the Catholic Records books, mostly because Hermina Pourciau (about the same time) was my paternal great-grandmother. That name sticks in my mind.
My original post is wrong. Angelina Jarreau married Gustave Pourciau, her son Emile Pourciau married Hermina (a cousin) Pourciau and produced my maternal grandfather, Tobie.

Your Jarreau kin to Angelina d/o Clement s/o
Rosemond s/o Pierre s/o Jacque? Almost has to be if she's from PCP.
thanks
karen

I remembered Herminie's name from the Catholic Records books, mostly because Hermina Pourciau (about the same time) was my paternal great-grandmother. That name sticks in my mind.
My original post is wrong. Angelina Jarreau married Gustave Pourciau, her son Emile Pourciau married Hermina (a cousin) Pourciau and produced my maternal grandfather, Tobie.

Your Jarreau kin to Angelina d/o Clement s/o
Rosemond s/o Pierre s/o Jacque? Almost has to be if she's from PCP.
thanks
karen
