Hi and Happy New Year! My understanding through the research on RootsWEb is that John and Hannah landed in Baltimore in 1750. SON John and younger son Solomon both earned land grants from their Rev War service.
Here is the basic line that I compiled from them to me:
John Jarvis and Hannah Hill beget:

John Jarvis b 1750 and Solomon Jarvis b 1753

John Jarvis b 1750 and Sarah Hood beget

Thomas Figgins Jarvis b 1804 in Harrison VA

Thomas Figgins Jarvis b 1804 and Ailsey Bentley Connolly b: Abt 1806 in Harrison,Virginia beget:

George Solomon Jarvis b: Abt 1834 in Lewis,Virginia

George Solomon Jarvis b 1834 and Sarah E. Siers b: 29 MAR 1837 in Monroe, Virginia beget:

John Thomas Jarvis b: JAN 1866 in Calhoun,West Virginia

John Thomas Jarvis b 1866 and 2 Flora Brannon b: 11 JUL 1868 in Calhoun,West Virginia beget:

Matt Jarvis b: 20 FEB 1884 in Calhoun, West Virginia

Matt Jarvis b. 20 FEB 1884 and Maude Meadows b: 14 OCT 1886 in Calhoun,West beget:

AS Per 1930 US Census:

Tygart, Wood, West Virginia
Enumerated April 29, 1930
425/431
All born and parents born in West Virginia
Matt Jarvis Head MW 45 M at 27 Engineer, Ice Company
Maude Wife FW 44 M at 26

My grandfather was Matt Jarvis and his mother was Flora (Florie) and his father was John Thomas Jarvis.

I think Solomon got a land grant as well, but maybe not. He established himself in KY and there are lots of Jarvis's still in that area (as there are also near Parkersburg WV).
Here's the RootsWeb info I used:This is from RootsWEb’s WorldConnect Project: Walker Kreaps DECEMBER 2008 on Ancestry.com
• ID: I6969
• Name: John Jarvis
• Sex: M
• Birth: Abt 1750 in Belair, Baltimore, Maryland
• Death: 13 MAR 1826 in Lewis, Virginia
• Note:
from Don Norman:
John Jarvis, a son of John and Hannah (Hill) Jarvis, was born in Belair, Baltimore county, MD about 1750, although legend says that he was born on the high seas on the voyage from England to America. John died in Lewis County VA (WV) March 13, 1826. His grave marker in Lewis County WV reads "1757-1823 Continental Line Revolutionary War"
John served the Colonies in the American Revolution and was granted a land warrant in Harrison County, VA (WV) for his service.
He made application for pension as a Revolutionary veteran in both Harrison and Lewis counties in VA, stating that he had enlisted in the Revolutionary Army in Baltimore County, MD, and was assigned to naval duty in a rowing galley commanded by Captain Bennett Matthews.
This galley made trips to Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton and three trips to Little York. John then secured a substitute and later reenlisted on a French galley commanded by Captain Davies and later made another trip with Captain Matthews.
In part, John's March 18, 1818pension application in Lewis County VA (WV) stated that he was then 68 years old, owned one little old house of little value and very doubtful title. He owned about twenty acres of land, very poor soil and very doubtful title.
John and his brother Solomon served together in the Revolution and came to Harrison County together in the late 1700's. Solomon moved to Kentucky before 1820.
John married Sarah Ann Richards in Ann Arundel County MD December 23, 1779. Sarah was born in Hartford County MD about 1760 and died there before 1793. John married Sarah Hood O'Brien in Hartford County about 1798. Sarah was born in Hartford County about 1770 and was apparently a
widow. She died in Lewis County after the 1830 census.
J.D. Warfield's "Founders of Ann Arundel Co. MD", speaks of Sarah (Hood) [O'Brien] Jarvis and states, "There is no accounting for what happened between Sarah and John Jarvis. It would seem that she chose to remain in MD at the estate property of her ancestors, while he chose to
go west." Warfield must not have been aware of the death date of Sarah Ann (Richards) Jarvis.
John was listed in the 1783 Hartford County census as a head of a household of six white souls and one slave.
