"In part, John's March 18, 1818pension application in Lewis County VA (WV) stated that he was then 68 years old, owned one little old house of little value and very doubtful title. He owned about twenty acres of land, very poor soil and very doubtful title.
John and his brother Solomon served together in the Revolution and came to Harrison County together in the late 1700's. Solomon moved to Kentucky before 1820."
This is from Walter Kreaps on RootsWeb.
I don't belong to Ancestry.com right now, but thought there was proof of John Jarvis's pension. But yeah, there are and were lots of John Jarvis's. There were Jarvis's in Kanawha Co WV at the same time and earlier (my mother's side is in that area).
Would love to be able to untangle. My niece went to England and made some inquiries about the Original John and Hannah, but all we got was as far as on Ancestry, Warwickshire area.
