Thanks for the reply. The information you posted is largely from the work of Don Norman, who wrote extensively on the families from this area. But he was mistaken about several of the things he wrote about the John Jarvis family. If you read through my long post, you will see that John Jarvis Jr. and his brother Solomon did NOT get pensions or bounty warrants for land because of Revolutionary War service. They did reportedly serve in the Virginia Navy under Capt. Mathews, but this service was not Federal, not in the Continental Line, and not rewarded by the Federal Government.
