My GGF( John Fisher) his mother was a Brada. I would love to know if you have a specific area they were from. The census for my family lists Rose Brada as being from Austria but speaking Slovak.

Do you know exactly where Brada originated?

Not sure if this is the same Dorothy Jasany or not, but my father, Frank Joseph Jasany, had a sister named Dorothy. Dorothy passed away some time ago, I believe she was in her late 80's or early 90's at the time of her passing. My father was one of 9 children of John & Rose Jasany of Cleveland, OH. The only living children of John & Rose is Mercedes(Jasany)Beuscher

How wonderful to receive a reply!!!!
I thought we'd be the only Jasanis in the world, it is quite amazing to know that there are 'others'.
Yes, we did originate from Central Europe/Asia (Eurasia??). That was atleast 8-10 generations ago. I think that could be calculated at about 250 yrs. ago.
Maybe part of the clan drifted eastwards into India while others westwards towards Czech Republic.

That's very interesting - the Jasanys that are ancestors of my husband are from Hungary/Czechoslovakia. I know when I was investigating alternate spellings, etc. and looking up people with that last name, that a LOT seemed to be Indian (judging by first names). Do you know what area yours originated in?

I wonder if Jasany has derived from Jasani.
We are of Aryan decent, who travelled to Rajasthan and became Rajputs. during the last 200 yrs, ( ithink) they went further south to Gujrat, turned into small businessmen and finally further to Bombay (mumbai).
We have got to be connected somehow, but unfortunately my father-in-law does not seem to have any strong family connections or recollections of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Here is the information that I have been able to pick up:

Gabriel Jasani (AKA Gabru Jasanyi)had a son John Jasani b 4 Jan 1845 in Hungary. John immigrated between 1887 and 1904 to Lakewood, Ohio. He died 24 May 1909 in Cleveland, Ohio of chronic interstitional nephritis-cystitis. He was buried in Calvary Cemetery. He and Mary Feodor had at least 3 children - a son, name unknown, who had a son also named John (my father-in-law recalls him as unmarried, but this may be our connection); a daughter, possibly named Pauline, who married a PAVEL; and a daughter, Helena Frances JASANY, born 13 April 1886 or 1887 in the village of Rudno, near the town of Kochice, Czechoslovakia. She immigrated in 1904 to Lakewood, Ohio, married Andrej J. (Andro or Andrew) MONDOK or MONDAK on 27 May 1907 in Lakewood, Ohio (These are my husband's grandparents.), and died on 17 or 18 September 1977 in Medina, Ohio.

I would love to get this sorted out and fill in the tree on his side of the family, but haven't had the time recently to go searching in Lakewood. Someday!
