Thanks for posting this information.
I would posit that this is Ralph Jauch, b. 1922 Colorado, son of Henry Jauch (b 1891 Colorado) and Anna House (b 1897 Arkansas, dau of Verdaman [yes, it clearly says that] House, b. 1859 Arkansas), and appearing with them in Bend, OR in the 1930 census (with sister Inez, age 12, b. 1818 Wyoming). Henry and Anna were married about 1917. Henry is a garage mechanic.
Ralph appears in the SSDI, b. 4 March 1922, d. 12 Dec 1994 in Redding, CA.
A Google search finds a probable son, Ralph Jauch, Jr. also of Redding.
Henry Jauch, per SSDI, was born 16 Jan 1891 and died 1 Oct 1965. His SS# was issued in California. The SSDI also has an Anna Jauch born 3 Apr 1897, d. May 1967, but in Flushings, NY. I'm less certain about that one.
I'm having difficulty finding Henry, Anna and Inez in the 1920 census.
I did find Henry Youch, right age (19), b. Colorado of German parents, a boarder in Walsenburg, Huerfano co., Colorado. [Way south of Col. Springs; not too far north of the border with New Mexico.] No occupation, living in the house of a "Jailor" with a number of non-employed, unrelated individuals.
After an interminable search in 1900, I think I found him as Reinhold Jauch, b. Jan 1891, living with his family in Custer, Colorado. German parents are:
John Jauch, b. June 1843; emig 1863
Minnie, b. Sept 1855; emig 1880
Married 19 years [therefore m. 1881]
Ancestry has a family tree of this family that has dates matching up with Henry of Redding, CA. It includes a photo, and if I'm correct, Henry would be the little boy to the farthest left:http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/14981755/person/193724070/med...
I am fairly certain that I found Annie House in Holly Springs, Arkansas; parents: Vance?? (difficult to read) House, 41 (b. 1869) Arkansas of Georgia/Tenessee parents; mother: Ella, 34? and 3 siblings. Father is a farmer.
I have the ancestry of this JAUCH line back to the 1500s in Schwenningen.
