Hi Mary,
My grandmother's name was Mary Jenca. Pronounced with accent on the first syllable. The town they were from was Presov, Slovakia. I have been there and been in contact with her brother Andrew's family. It would be curious if there was a connection somewhere. As I understand it, at the time (1900-1913) most people considered themselves more or less Hungarian due to the influence of the Austro/Hungarian empire at the time. when my grandmother was in school they only spoke Slovak at home. Hungarian was the language in school. Adios for now, Andy
