Do you know anything about a Reuben Jax(t)he(i)mer born in the bucks co. area of PA? He was a descendant of Johann, since the only other immigrant Jaxheimer arrived in the 1860's, but I can't trace it.

For many years I have been looking for an elusive Hexamer ancestor - Michael Hexamer, born about 1823, prob. eastern PA. He simply shows up here in Crawford Co., PA., on his wedding day in 1851. His mother may have been named Mary (not really helpful when dealing with German) families. He reported that his parents were born in PA. It has been suggested to me that the name Hexamer may connect to the Jaxtheimer family. Does any of this sound familiar?

Hi,
I realize this is 4 years after your posting and you may not need this info.I find it hard to believe that Clifford Hettenbaugh was born in 1943 if he is the son of Hannah Jane Comstock and Seth Baker Hettenbaugh. Hannah was born in 1866 and married Seth in 1886. Hannah would have been almost 80 when she gave birth. Also, Hannah was born in the US . . . she did not immigrate from England or Ireland.

Mary Jaxtheimer was born in 1844 and married Daniel Comstock in 1860. (parents of Hannah Jane)
Mary's parents were Amos and Uta "Judy" Jaxtheimer.
Daniel's parents were Cephas and Hannah Martin Comstock.
Both sets of parents can be found in the 1870 census for West Salem Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania. The Comstocks at page 165B and the Jaxtheimer's at page 178A.

Hope this helps

AJ

You might want to try Berks County, Pennsylvania for Jaxtheimer, Joxtheimer, Yaxtheimer, Yoxtheimer. Johann Philip Jaxtheimer, arrived in America and settled there. I am a descendent of his.
