Hi Catherine,

I was scanning the message board on ancestry.com and naturally, your name jumped out at me. I have never met another Catherine Jeannette. (I go by Cathy.)

I live in Massachusetts. My father is David Jeannette, my grandfather was Michael Jeannette. I believe my grandfather's parents were European French and Italian, but the trail stops there.

My Great Grandfather was John Jeunette (Jennette?) and was living in Portsmith, Ohio according to the 1890 U. S. Census. We now spell our name Jeunette, and I believe that there have been other corruptions over the years. I would be glad to share other information I have found with you. Vito Giordano and Ida Rizzi are direct ancestors of my husband. The information that I have has Ida Rizzi as the child of Dominico Rizzi- born Italy. I have Ida as being born in Tegginio Italy and having died in McGregor, Aiken County, MN. Vito and Ida had 8 children. One of which [ Philomena (Filomena)] was my husband's Grandmother. PATSY DO YOU KNOW OF ANYBODY WITH THE FIRST NAME JANATTA. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYBODY BY THAT FIRST NAME. EVERYBODY OUT HERE IN CALIFORNIA SAY MY NAME IS PRETTY UNCOMMON BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD IT EITHER.

JANATTA IS MY FIRST NAME. THEN NAME WAS GIVEN TO ME FROM MY DAD. HE IS FROM THE SOUTH. HIS REASONING IS THAT HE NAMED ME AFTER HIS BESTFRIEND, HER NAME WAS JOANATTA. HE SAID HE JUST CHANGED THE O TO AN A. MAYBE HE HEARD THE NAME GROWING UP?

We are also looking for relatives of Nick and Barbara (Jordan) Jeanetta. Nick born 1863 in Bojano, Campobasso, Italy. Barbara born 1876 in Teggiano, Salerno, Italy. No record of Nick's parents or siblings. Barbara's parents: Vito Giordano changed to Jordan and Ida Rizzi, lived in McGreggor, Mn.

Hello, I think that we are cousins. My Grand father is Vincent Jeannette, his brothers name was Warren Jeannette. They were from River Rouge MI. They had a large family, first born was Violet (I live in her old house) then Warren, Vincent, Charlotte, and Lillian (she is still alive) My Grandfather moved to Fair Haven MI in about 1940 and so did Violet and Charlotte. Our family still lives here. My Father is Thomas Jeannette.
I have probably met you, we visited once on Gross Isle, at you Father's or Uncle's house.

I'm told that my grandfather, Edward Joseph Jeunette originally spelled his name "Jeanette", but it was changed when he enlisted into the army during WWI. He was from the Ohio, Kentucky area. Is his name familiar to you? Are you aware of a name change such as this?

I was born in Jersey City, NJ and adopted by Rose and Joseph Jeannette in 1961. I have very little information about my biological parents and am interested in obtaining medical information at the very least. I just recently purchased a pocket dictionary while in PA. It belonged to a Jeanette K. Bush from NJ, Washington County. Her signature is in the book with a date of 1904. I am looking to see if she has any realtions out there that would be interested in having the dictionary. It is in wonderful shape. Please help.
