I was told that Jeffas may be spelled Tzifas. Found records from Vytina, Greece where others with this name came from, so I am trying to research that lead. John Jeffas did us no favors did he?!

Yes, I am still working on this line. Hannah is also my Great Grandmother. I have hit a brick wall and have been taking a break. Hannah Coughlan (Coughlin) was married to John Jeffas. But I have not found any more information on John Jeffas. I have a different name for Hannah's mother. But I have not been able to find any birth records for Hannah to check the names of her parents.

p.s. The Surname "Jobin" is Spelled Jouben

Hi, I'm still working on my genealogy,Jeffas, Coughlin,Hanvey, Henry, Jobin families. This is my mother's side of the family and I keep getting wrong info. My father's side is much easier to follow the thread back in time. Wondering if you are still working on it too. I followed Hannah Coughlin Jeffas, my great grandmother. Found her parents:Wm and Catharine Coughlin from Ireland. Any info is appreciated. Sue

I am adopted and 51 years old and just found out tonight that I was born a Jeffas or Bullton and that I have a sibling with one of these last names that was adopted along with me!

Born in Wisconsin.

My maternal grandmother's maiden name Jeffas, originally from Jersey City,her mother's name was Hannah Jeffas, I do not know her maiden name, nor her husbands first name. And I thought I remember my mother speaking of a Jobin family relation living in the Ocean County NJ area.Jeffas is a hard name to search. Good luck!

Searching for any information on John Jeffas, His decendants and ancestors
