I recently read your contribution to an ancestry.com thread related to the Jeffrey's. My wife is the dauhter of Herbelena Cladwell Lewis, who is the daughter of Herbert Caldwell and Ernestine Eskins. Ernestine Eskins is the daughter of Mary Elvira Jeffrey and George Thomas Eskins. Mary Elvira is the daughter of Bird Lochard Jeffrey and Sinia Bias (Byas).

We believe that Bird Lochard Jeffrey is the son of William Jeffrey b. about 1774 (and Elizabeth McNeeley). Bird had two sisters Sara and Eliza. We believe that Elizabeth M. was the second wife of William, the first wife being Elizabeth Jane McFraland with whom Bird had four children. We are looking to confirm the above.

We re also trying to confirm that William Jeffrey was related to the Jeffrey's from Monmouth County New Jersey through the William Jefrey line. Some have suggested that the 1774 William was the son of Richard Jeffrey (born in 1726 and wed to Elizabeth Wall. However Richard's will does not not appear to name the 1774 William.

Richard is the son of Francis Jeffrey Jr (b about June 19, 1684 and wed to Mary. Francis Jr and mary apparently had 8 children (Francis, William, Richard, John, Catharine Charity, sarah and Lewis).

Francis Jr was the son of Francis (b. 1654) and Anne Worth (b. 1658). They had two other children, William and Mary.

Again we have no support for that either. We are working on a non-commercial product to be given to our children and grandchildren. We are trying to document everything we can with historical reords family records and other sources. While this is not commercial, we acknowledge all contributions in the manner they direct.
