I'm tracing my maternal grandmother's family. She was Alice Jeffreys, born in PA in 1901. I've got a good line back to her grandfather, Howell Jeffreys, but then I've got a couple possible tracks going back - either Howell-Marmaduke (aka Robert)-John-John-John-James-John (also the father of George, the 'Hanging Judge') OR Howell-John-Thomas-Thomas-Henry (b.1720). I've seen the Tree here on Ancestry that has the second path, but, I also have a trace done about 50 years ago that has the first path. I know most were ministers, but I may 'know' that from the first trace, which identifies several as men-of-the-cloth of various sorts (including Chaplin to George, Prince of Wales). There is also a 53 year gap between 2 of the Johns in that first trace (1718 to 1771). Not impossible, but unusual.

I'd like to see if this line sounds familiar to anyone else. Thanks in advance!

Dave
