Classification: Query
Surnames: Jefts Jeffs Jefes
There are at least 7 distinct Jonathan Jefts and, I believe, probably twice that. Jonathan b 1733 Billerica d 1818 I'm not sure where. His son Henry's children stayed in Townsend. I've not yet seen any other issue.
The Jonathan with a son Gilbert was b 1767 in Mason, NH , son of John b 1739 in Groton, MA. This Jonathan, is, I believe, the one in Stoddard censuses for 1800-1810. The general migration pattern spreads from Billerica to surrounding towns in Middelsex to NH and VT. Here's a link to a google map I made of towns with Jefts vital records.

This map and my Jefts tree are based on the probably false assumtion that Henry Jefes who did abt 1705 in Billerica had only 2 sons. These are the lines I'm trying to build based on the MA-VR and various local histories. There are generations of Jeffs in Gloucester, which I think likely to be related. I invite all with access to this tree to post comments directly in the tree if you have conflicting sources or even theories.
