Hi, We are making a history book from a small village, called Manssila, by the Lake Ladoga in northwest Russia. My mother Raisa was born in that village in 1923. People were going to build up a new church in Manssila in 1902. At that time the area belonged to Finland which was a part of Russia. Colonel A.W.Jelagin was the man who gave most of the money to build the church.
Who was this colonel? Russian? Where was he born and when?
