We are working on my wife's geneology and have come across a mystery. It seems that between 1910 and 1920 Anthony Jelinek (b ~ 1859) and his wife Antonia moved from Chicago to Richmond, VA. Shortly after that, for lack of a better term, they "merged" with a Darling family in Richmond. We have a document from the school system in Richmond stating that one of their daughters (Alice Mabel) was the foaster child of J. Frank Darling and that she was born 10 June 1907. More intriguing is Richmond Times Dispatch newspaper clipping from May 10, 1936 with a picture of the Jelinek's in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They are listed as "Mr. and Mrs. Anton Jelinek Darling" and mentions they have seven children. We can only find four.
