Rosannah Dawdry (nee Wehrle)(Father Frederick Albert Wehrle and Mother Clara Stevens/Edlestone) was my maternal grandmother, who I never saw . She left the family home in 1914 (aged approx 30) when My grandfather Henry Edgar Dawdry went to war in Germany (Did not return!). Rosannah was the eldest of a large Wehrle family and left behind four daughters(Dawdry) aged 8,6,4and 2 in the care of Henry's mother Eliza Elizabeth (nee Evans). My mother Ivy Dawdry was the 6 year old and pined the loss of contact with her mother to her death in 1998. I have tried all avenues to trace Rosannah, pre internet technology, to no avail. Unfortunately at the time she left the family, such was the considered disgrace, that nothing appears to have been passed down, particularly photographs. Had she died at a young age I feel sure somebody in the family would have passed the knowledge down, so I have been left to assume that she made a fresh start and a new family ensued. If she adopted a completely new surname(ie left past names behind eg Wehrle,Stevens, Edlestone,Dawdry, then my task is even harder, but I would be most grateful for any possible linking information to solve this very personal search .
