I think that Isaac Carl Jenks' wife, Mary Anna Wiles, must be related somehow to the famous Hudson River painter, Lemuel Maynard Wiles. Her mother's name was Anna Maynard. Her father Thomas P. Wiles. She was born 21 June 1842 in Newport, Herkimer, NY; lived also in Grove, Allegheny, NY; moved to Michigan (perhaps with Capt. Jenks who may have been stationed there in the Civil War), and later settled in Lexington, KY where she died 16 Nov. 1915.
I have a painting that Capt. Jenks sold to my grandparents about 1908-1910 that he said his wife had painted, and he had framed. My aunt has a companion painting. They are landscapes of Great South Bay, Long Island.
