AN ATTORNEY IN TROUBLE.
DAVENPORT, Ia., May 30. -- J. H. C. Jenson, a lawyer of this city, has been arrested by order of United States Commissioner White. The charge against him is that of procuring fraudulent pensions and charging extortionate fees. Jenson does not deny the charges. One of the women for whom he obtained a pension testified to-day that he told her that the records of her marriage to a second husband were destroyed, and in that way she could receive a pension on account of the death of her first husband. By means of manufactured affidavits Jenson obtained the pension and charged $400 for it. The limit allowed by law to a pension agent is $10.
