I have a lot of info on the Jerge family from Lancaster, NY and Elma, NY. Jacob Jerge of Elma was my great-great grandfather. Are you from Elma or Lancaster? My e-mail is SueMue@Juno.com. I went to school with the Petersons.

I recently posted a message on the Hafner GenForum board concerning my purchase of an old photo album that once belonged to Joseph J. Hafner, who, on 11 Oct 1873, married Catherine/Catharine Jerge in the town of Elma, Erie Co., NY.

My Great Grandfather was William Yerge (Jerge) he married a Catharine Seifert. William died in 1934. I live in West Seneca, NY.

dad's brother that died was henry jr. he killed himself with the fumes from his exhaust over a girl, he was wearing dad's favorite shirt and had dad's guitar as well. the gravel pit he committed suicide in was just down the road from where they were living.

Inez, I looks like the last time someone looked in here was in 2005???? my Mom Beverly Grandville (maiden name) married our father Robert H. Jerge in the 1950's i was born their third child in 1956. our father only had one brother Richard Jerge our narural grandmothers name was Clarisse and she had a sister Grace and Grandmothers sister grace only had two children one boy and one girl. grandfather Henry and grandmother Clarisse were divorced and grandfather married Clara and had several daughters with clara but only one son. this young man died at ayoung age. i heard it had something to do with a young women he lobved but she did not return the same love for him. very sad.

i'm trying to do a family tree. my father is Robert Harold Jerge Sr. He is from Lancaster,NY. His father was Henry "Hank" Jerge Sr. Robert's mother was Clarice Kessler or Bailey. Dad couldn't remember which.

not only am i looking for jerge's, i'm also looking for wilber's. jerge's i've gone as far as mary ann (froess)jerge who married john henry jerge.

I'm also trying to find wilber's. i've gone as far as myron gerald wilber and his wife v. ethel white.

i also need info on midas junior grant and his wife emma flora tisdale.

it's hard for me to figure out how to go about getting this info so if anyone can either give me a hand or tell me how to do it myself i'd appreciate it.

Robert I am appalled at this latest scam of yours! You've known your entire life that you are a Yerge in NAME only. I believe your biological father passed, & not leaving you any inheritance, you now are going after the only other avenue opened to you, due to our mother naming you after my father out of spite, & spite only. You need to stop this. Trying to convince all these innocent & trusting people that yo are something you KNOW you are not!

I truly am sorry that you are finding it so very difficult coping with the fact you are a Yerge in name only. But, you've known your entire life that just because you were given my fathers' name, you are not his biological son. I don't understand your being so adament, after all these years, that now you are biologically a Yerge... You act as though there's a huge trust fund, or inheritance, to be gotten, & you want in on it..If there were the slightest possibility you indeed were a Yerge, I would be the first to stand by you to the end to prove or disprove. But, facts are facts, my father was not your father. What would mom possibly have to gain by admitting she named you after my father for spite & spite only? Mom & I talked to my father when he was on his death bed, don't you think it would have been told then if it were indeed as you now claim it is? It's not right of you to go around contacting my blood relatives attempting to convince them that you are my fathers' son., especially since you've known your entire life that you are a Yerge in name only. You need to stop this, it's wrong, not just morally, but legally as well.

My wife Janice and I are sorry to hear about Jack's death. My mom, Julie( Jack's second wife) passed away on May 10,2005 and James Young( the man I knew as Dad )passed away on September 25, 2005. My mum's cousin Monica Honora Donovan married Newcomb Prozeller in Australia and returned to Niagara NY to live. Newcomb is descended from Martin through Peter Joseph. Any help you can give me on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Is your Grandmother Esther's maiden name Boone? The reason I'm asking is because I have a Great grandfather Leo Jerge and Great grandmother Esther Jerge. Great Grandmother Esther passed away in 1984(?). Please e-mail me back to let me know what your Grandmother's maiden name is. Who knows? We may be related.

you are right about the pronounciation. I've been called Jergen's handlotion and jerk so many times it's not funny.

hi! My name is Anna Jerge my dad Jim jerge and he was born in Buffalo NY in 1951 his parents were Anita and Edward Jerge my grandfather had a brother Clearance who died in WWII. I don't know his parents names.

I may have some helpful information. My great great grandfather was Martin Prozeller who is buried in what we believe is the Jerge plot at St. Mary's in Lancaster,NY. You can barely read the jerge name on the gravestone. One of his sisters who I believe was named Catherine(Jerge) is buried next to him. Martin was a wagonmaker by trade and I believe worked at the Jerge works in Elma, NY. An older relative validated that Jerge was the family name of Martin's sister. There is also a connection with the Jacob Kolb family(contracting/construction) in Lancaster, NY and also the Oehm family who married into the Jerges.

Yes, I have information on the Jerge's. I have two volumes of the Jerge family tree dating back to 1690.
We are all related.

I was born on the corner of Clinton St. and Bowen Rd. in Elma, NY in 1947. I had an uncle and cousin born in the same house. my father was Norman, grand parents were Leo and Esther. They owned the village store after the wagon factory closed. The house I was born in is now the Autumview restaurant.
