I know this is a longshot, but I noticed that your surname is Bauman. My JERGENS line from the Cincinnati and northern Kentucky area eventually married into a BAUMANN line in 1913. With Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky all part of the Ohio River valley, I'm wondering if there is a possibility that your ancestors and mine are connected somehow. My Elizabeth JERGENS was born in Germany around 1837. She married John SCHAPPEL, and their daughter married a BAUMANN. Elizabeth's parents were Lawrence & Elizabeth, and she had a sister Theresa and a brother Joseph. The family arrived in America before 1850 because Joseph was born here.
