In 1850 Joseph lived in Bainbridge.
In 1860 the family lived in Bainbridge Township, Dubois County, Indiana. Their last name is written “Gerger” on the census. They had a boarder named Francis Duffers.
In 1880 the family lived in Jasper, Dubois County, Indiana. Joseph Sr. was a farmer and Alois and John worked the land, too. Joseph, Jr. was already married. Stephen had died and Mary Ann was out of the house.
In 1900 Joseph lived with his son Lawrence and his wife, Helena in Bainbridge.
In 1910 Joseph lived with his son Lawrence and his family in Bainbridge, IN.
