The lady in the obituary is Ruth Edith Nations, the wife of William Staton Jerkins,born 1902 in Texas. William S. Jerkins was the son of John Thaddeus Jerkins born 1871 in Doublas County, GA and wife Joanna Mobbs John T. Jerkins was the son of Robert Franklin Jerkins, born about 1848 in Wilkinson County, GA and Frank's wife Annie Howard Land. Robert Fraklin Jerkins was the son of Robert Jerkins, born about 1812 in Georgia and his wife Sarah Stuckey.

Ruth E. Jerkins, 92, long-time Oklahoma resident, died July 3, 1991 in Austin, Tx. Ruth Editha Nation Jerkins was born to Mark and Cora Nation in Galena, Kansas, October 10, 1898. While a babe in arms, she moved with her parents, brother, Harry and sister, Mary, to Winfield, Kansas, where they lived until she was about 3 years old. In 1901, when land was opened for drawing and settlement in Caddo County, Oklahoma Territory, the family moved to a farm about eight miles east of Binger. They lived there until 1910 when they sold the farm and moved to Oklahoma City where she lived until 1990. She moved then to Austin, Texas to be near her son and daughter-in-law. After graduation from Oklahoma City Central High School, then called Oklahoma High School, and Central State Teachers College, now CSU, she taught school at Wheeler Elementary in Oklahoma City until her first son was born. She married William Staton Jerkins July 23rd, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1968. W.S. "Bill" Jerkins was a past chairman of the Oklahoma County Democratic Party and very active in local politics. A member of Christ United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, she taught Sunday School for more than fifty years, first in the children's department and later the adult department. She retired from teaching when she moved to Texas. She was also active in the Woman's Society where she held every position in her local church and several district posts. While her sons were in school, she was very active in the Parent Teacher Association, holding many school and city wide positions. She was also active in civic affairs, serving as an election official for more than forty years. She is survived by two sons, Joe T. Jerkins of Austin, Tx. and Robert W. Jerkins of Santa Fe, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Irene Van Sandt of Eufaula, Ok.; two granchildren, Susan Gates of Seattle, Wa. and John M. Jerkins of Stillwater, Ok.; five great grandchildren and a host of friends. Services will be at Guardian Midtown at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with burial beside her late husband at Rose Hill.
