My great-grandfather Hieronimus Jermann (1849-1914) arrived in US approximately 1878 and settled in New York. About 8 years ago, I learned that he had six brothers that "went west." Thanks to a wonderful e-mail from Franz Jermann of Dittingen, I now know that those six brothers were named Franz, John, Paul, August, Joseph and Meinrad. According to Franz, as of 1908, Heironimus and Paul lived in New York - the rest lived in Ohio (Independence). I believe that several descendants of these brothers continued on to Oregon and possibly Washington. Several postings on this website refer to this family and I would love to hear from you.
