HISTORY NOTES: Simeon Jarrell (Jerrell)
Extract from Genealogy of John and Elmira Jarrell 10 Aug 1994

Moved to Monroe county West Virginia when he was about 11.

1811, Monroe county he was jailed for 48 hours and fined 5 dollars for
attempting to rescue a prisoner from the Sheriff. No record of why
the prisoner had been arrested.

Moved to what is now Boone county West Virginia between 1815 and 1820
and settled at the mouth of Jarrell's Branch, about four miles above
Madison.

Kanawha Court records show he was sent to prison for counterfeiting
one dollar gold pieces. Ten were found in his possesion when he was
arrested. It is assumed he died in prison. All his children were
still living at home.
