Morrisonville — Mrs. Dorothy M. Jessey, 92, formerly of Beckwith Street and Arthur LeFevbre Senior Housing in Morrisonville passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.
She was born in Cadyville, N.Y., on Aug. 16, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Gonyea) Bassett.
Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and playing bingo. She was a member and past president of the Schuyler Falls Senior Citizens, St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville and the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Alexander’s.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Frank Jessey; her sisters, Jessie Bassett, Julia Ryan, Frances Squires and Marion McAllister; her brothers, Charles, Leon, Lloyd and Elmer Bassett.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Bombard and her husband Robert of Morrisonville; a son, Robert and his wife Jo Ann Jessey of Chazy Lake and Newport Richey, Fla.; a sister, Reta LaBarge of Herkimer, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Lee, Keith, Jody, Kelly and Brad; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Johnnie, Seth, Griffin and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Interment will be at a later date in St. Alexander’s Cemetery.
Friends wishing may have Masses said in her memory.
