John Jort was my Great Great Grandfather. My great grandmother was Selma Jort Anderson Jensen, and my Grandmother was Mae Anderson Peterson. I do not have a lot of information on John, other than what you already know, but I do have a lot of information about the family. I grew up on land that was part of the farmstead that John Yort bought in 1870 in Douglas County, Nebraska. This land is now inside the city of Omaha. My mother still lives there - not on the farm, but my parents built a house on an acre of the farmland in the late 1950's. I know this is an old post, but I am hoping it reaches you.

I am looking for information about my gr grandfather, John Jhort, possibly spelled Jort or Yort. His wife was Matilda Johnson. They were originally from Sweden and lived in Omaha, Nebraska.Children were Selma, J. Albert,Edward, Charlie S., Hildur and Arthur.
