Joseph Carrington was born on 30 October 1880 in Texas to the parents of John Carrington and Harriet Rivers. Joseph might have went by the name of "Jody Carrington" He died in Chambers County, Texas on 12 July 1972 and was buried 2 days later in Martha Godfrey cemetery in Double Bayou, Texas.

His mother Harriet had several children by several different men but later in years all of her children carried the Carrington surname which is making it hard to find any infor. Harriet was thought be be living in East Texas in a town called Shepherd, Texas.

"Jody" married first to a Minnie North in the year of 1897 and then to Mary Etta Vanlieu on 02 June 1908.

His obit. state that he had a daughter named Irene Jiles (b: 1898) who was living in Detroit, Michigan. I don't know if this was his bio./adopted child. by Minnie.

*Author's note* As a small child I remember him living next door, he was dark skinned, medium build and wore wire rim glasses.After "Uncle Jody" became ill, I remember my Dad would have to go over to his house because he was shooting at anything that moved in the dark and he was finally placed in a nursing home in Beaumont, Texas.
