GLADBROOK, Iowa -- Paul C. Jindrich, 70, of Gladbrook died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at his home while in the care of the Grundy County Hospice.

Funeral Mass is at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garwin. The Rev. Keith Birch will officiate. Burial will be at Mapel Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook.

Visitation is with a 7 p.m. scripture service at Goettsch Perrin Funeral Home in Gladbrook.

Mr. Jindrich was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Gladbrook, the son of Charles L. and Helen E. Bauer Jindrich. He married Joyce I. Thompson Nov. 2, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshalltown. She preceded him in death in September 2000.

He was raised, educated and graduated from high school in Gladbrook.

He and his brother owned and operated Jindrich Brothers Meat Market for many years. He was a rural mail carrier for many years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garwin, Gladbrook Lions Club, former City Councilman, former member of the City Water Board, former member of Tama County Conservation Board and Iowa Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Survivors include three children, Chuck Jindrich and wife, Geri, of Montour, John Jindrich and wife, Julie, of Muscatine and Karen French and husband, Stephen, of Fort Madison; five grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Robinson and husband, Paul, of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Lucille; a brother; and a sister.
