INVERNESS, FL: Thomas G. Jividen, formerly of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, March 29 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida.
He was born July 2, 1926 in Red House, West Virginia to Ernest and Edna (Goddard) Jividen.
On Dec. 1, 1948 in Marion, Ohio he married Tessie Blanton, deceased 9 months.
Tom loved playing cards of all kinds. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Tom loved spending time with his bird Pete. Pete was a great companion for Tom when he lost Tessie.
Tom is survived by 2 sisters, Barbara Jean (Tom) Armstrong, and Betty June (Bob) Takai; 4 sons, James (Marilyn) Wilds, Lonnie Jividen, Rick (Deb Hawkins) Jividen, all of Marion, Ohio and Paul (Susan) Jividen from Florida; 3 daughters, Patricia Burton, Henrietta (James) Malone, and Rita (Ted) Kohler. He had 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, 3 step great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first grandson, James O. Malone III; his parents; 1 brother, Alfred Jividen; 4 sisters, Ada Good, Lodema Harrison, Jerelene Rosebrough, and Eldena Tolley.
There will be a funeral service officiated by Pastor Charlene Baughman on Tuesday April 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Marion Area Veteran's Council. The Family will visit with friends and loved ones Monday evening April 5th at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. There will be a dinner at the American Legion 584 on Olney Ave. Tuesday after the funeral.
