James Harold JOHNSON, 81, of Eaton, OH died June 12, 2008 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born December 23, 1926, in London, KY, he was the son of Orville and Berlie JOHNSON, and had lived in the area most of his life. He had attended Brownsville High School. He was a U.S. Army paratrooper during World War II. He served in Sendai, Japan and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Victory Medal. Mr. Johnson was a farmer and truck driver for many years. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Railsback) JOHNSON, whom he married August 21, 1948, in Richmond, IN; sons, Randall Steven (Pamela Kay) JOHNSON and Kevin Kurtis JOHNSON, both of Eaton, OH and Harold Andrew JOHNSON of New Paris, OH; daughter, Marjorie Sue (Richard) Turner of Richmond, IN; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Marc) Rothenberg of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremiah Scott (Tina) JOHNSON of Centerville, IN, and Kari Kathleen (Josh) Dunbar of New Paris, OH; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Bette Jo) JOHNSON of Cambridge City, IN; a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held in Elkhorn Cemetery. Doan & Mills Funeral Home, Richmond, IN is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Veterans Guard VFW Post #1108, 213 S. 8th St., Richmond, IN 47374, or to the American Heart Association/Stroke Association, Greater Midwest Affiliate, Memorial & Tributes Program, Department 77-3968, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
