Bernetta "Bernie" K. Mattia Joint, 83, of Erie, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born in Forest City, Pa., on March 22, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Anna Gisane Mattia. She worked for 25 years as a Meter maid for the Erie Parking Authority. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John, Jr. and Martin Mattia.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John M. Joint; a daughter, Annemarie Dellecurti; and a son, Remo Ferritto, both of Erie; three sisters, Laura Henning, Dolores Marcheleovich and Ann Yackovich; a brother, Philip Mattia; a sister-in-law, Sr. Ann Marie Joint, SSJ; and five step-children. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral mass at 1 p.m. at St. Ann Church. Burial will be at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
