I am trying to locate any information on my g-g-grandfather, Jacob Jordahl, who immigrated from Norway in 1865 (approx.) by way of NY and then going on to the Racine/Norway, WI area by 1859. He may have been traveling with a male cousin and a german family named "Leuy" or "Luey". He was born in 1844. In 1862, he joined the 15th Wisconsin Infantry and served for the duration of the Civil War with Company C. NARA records confirm that he was wounded at Murfreesboro, and saw action at Island No. 10 and Chickamauga. He was honorably discharged in 1865 at the age of 21, and returned to WI where he married Anna Leuy/Luey either in WI or MI. He became a river boss for Louis Sands of Manistee, MI and was killed while saving one of his boys in a rollaway. I would like to hear from anyone who thinks Jacob may have been a relative, or who can offer any further info on him. Thank you.
