My 3X Great Grandparents were James JOSS and Mary WATT who married in June, 1820 in Forgue, Aberdeenshire. One of their 5 children, Mary JOSS, born Marnoch, Banff circa 1823 would be my 2X Great Grandmother. She was never married and on the birth registration of her last child, it showed, "the seventh illegitimate child of Mary JOSS". One of her children, Alexander BROWN, 1855 was registered under "BROWN" in Monquhitter with the father being Alexander BROWN. He was my Great Grandfather. I do believe that her brother, James JOSS also lived in this parish and had children born there. If anyone recognizes this JOSS family, I would be happy to hear from you.
