I am researching my great grandmother: Mary JOY, baptised 22 October 1854 at Carrickbeg Catholic Church, County Waterford (next to Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary), the daughter of Patrick JOY of ‘Windgap, or Ardmore’ townland, Dysert Civil Parish, Upperthird Barony, Co. Waterford, and Honoria WALSH of Ballindysert townland, Dysert Civil Parish, Upperthird Barony, Co. Waterford. Patrick was a tenant farmer. Mary’s brothers & sisters: 1. James JOY (born 1848 – emigrated to Philadelphia, Penn. in about the1870s, married Bridget ..?.. & had Annie (born 1875), Mary (1879), Lilian (1881), Katie (1883), Clara (1885 – married Charles Buzby and had Jeanette), Grace (1886), Edward (1889), and Margaret (1891). In 1880 Census, living at 825 12th St, Philadelphia. In 1900 Census, at 2128 Oakford St, Philadelphia.) 2. Margaret JOY (1850). 3. John JOY (1851). 4. Patrick JOY (1853 - emigrated to Philadelphia, Penn. in about the1870s, married Margaret Duggan, and had Hannah (1878), James Francis (1883), Margaret (1886) Moved to Gloucester City,N.J. around 1880.) 5. Mary Joy (1854 – married John BREEN), 6. Walter JOY (1856), 7.Ellen JOY (1858), and 8. Honor JOY (1860). Neil Foley
