I just have ancestry from daughter Emelie marr. to Joseph Dagenais. They moved to Hastings Co., On. Do you have info on Francois birth and parents. I thought there was perhaps a Thomas maybe listed as Emelie brother in her marr. 1836, La Visitation-de-la-Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie, Montreal. Thankyou

Hi Danielle,

Somebody on my mom's side of the family has a picture of the brothers and sisters. They received it once my ggm passed away. My mom couldn't recall all the brothers and sisters. You could email my mom directly at blm2560@yahoo.com. I know she would be interested and maybe could provide some more information. Also, I found out through researching some other sites that the Jubinville's all came to Canada around the same time from France. The surname also has a coat of arms. There are some Jubinville's still in Canada that appear to be part of our ancestral line. I haven't been able to get really into the research since I've been busy with graduate school. If you have some information I would love to see it. My email address is aisha_m81@yahoo.com

Hi- My grandfather/grandmother were raised in South Hadley as well. My GGfathers name was Eugene. My grandfathers name was Arthur (apparently there were 2 Aruthurs - the first died at childbirth and later down the chain my grandfather). I heard he had like 9 other siblings. My grandfather died in the early 1970s and my grandmother past in 2000 and stayed in South Hadley until that point. Havent been able to find our Jubinville link that fits in with Donald/Darlenes tree (we are related - just cant get all of the information b/c there were so many siblings.

Norbert Laferriere/ Julie Jubinville, Narcisse Clermont/ Victoria Jubinville - Are They Sisters?

I am trying to determine the parents of Julie Jubinville (married Norbert Laferriere) from the Joliette area (Ste Elizabeth or St Jean-de-Matha). She would be my GG-Grandmother.

I know she and Norbert were in Cohoes NY in the 1880 census, And I know that most of the children including my G-Grandmother Eugenie Laferriere ended up in Lowell, MA.

I suspect her parents are Ambroise Jubinville and Therese St Jean dit Laperche. The LDS database lists the children of Ambroise and Therese to be Elie, Theophile, Marguerite, Julie, Marie Sara, Sophie, Domiltide, and Victoria.

This Julie has a birth date of 6/10/1840 in Ste Elisabeth De, Lanoraie-D'Autray, Berthier, Quebec which agrees with the 1880 census.

I have the death certificates for Victoria Jubinville and Narcisse Clermont who both died in Lowell, MA. Victoria's parents are listed as Ambroise and Therese. Victoria and Narcisse are also godparents to some of Norbert and Julie's children.

So the real question is - Is the Julie (daughter of Ambroise) and sister of Victoria, the same Julie that married Norbert Laferriere ?

Jubinvill/Jubinville/Jubenville/Jubainville Family Tree

The research of the Jubenville/Jubinville Family Tree continues. Pierre Jubinville was born in France abt. 1650. He married Marguerite Blainville. They had a son Michael born in 1671. He came to Canada as a soldier and married Marguerite Barbeau in 1706. They had four sons and three daughters. Of these, three sons had descendants and ensured the distribution of our surname in Canada and the United States. We have gathered 8950 individuals into our database, all connected to Pierre Jubinville. We have a number of missing links in the USA. We welcome any information to update our database and would gladly share information with you. I continue to work with Donald Jubinville(Montreal) We are hoping to have a website up and running again. Contact us
cowsrus@sympatico.ca

Some of her siblings are Arthur, Nina, Dorothy, Dolly and William, but this only a few. She had a lot of siblings. My mom told me they we were supposedly related to the Jubinville's who own the insurance agency. My ggm was raised in a white house in south hadley that some relatives now reside in. My mom's family resides in holoyke and south hadley.

I stumbled on your Genforum reply today while searching for anything on my fathers "Laferriere" ancesters. My grandmother was Agnes Laferriere, daughter of Theophile and Leda (Dumas) Laferriere, son of Norbert and Julie (Jubinville) Laferriere.

Using the available US census information, I've found Norbert & Julie in the 1880 census in Cohoes, Albany, NY.. Their children were Louis, Norbert, Theophile (spelled "Treffle" in the census entry), Matilda, Eugenie, Joseph, Aurelia and Mary. The census entry indicates that all of the children were born in Canada except Mary.

Theophile married Leda Dumas (daughter of Moise Dumas and ? Robitaille) in about 1888 (in the US). Their children were, Laura, Noe, Agnes (my grandmother), Anna, J. Clifford and Amanda.

I've been trying to piece this together, mainly from online sources, but I do have copies of deathe certificates for Theophile and Leda from Lowell, Mass.

I'm trying to trace Norbert and Julie back into Canada, as well as broadening my Laferriere records for Theophile's siblings. If you have any of this information or can point me to someone who does, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Eugene Jubinville

Hi Matt

My great grandfather was Eugene and my grandfather was Arthur- I do know that my grandfather, Arthur, had a sister named Rita who lives in Massachusetts. However the information I have is my Eugene was born March 28th 1875 in Holyoke Mass and died in July of 1970. I too, thought he was born in Canada but Phillip Cavanaugh Jr (his g father was brothers with Eugene I believe). He explained to me that the first born to Francois Ludger Jubinville "Eugene"/Mother Marie Lague had a first born who died at birth named Eugene then like many kids later they named another child Eugene (which is my great grandfather- see the confusion; why on earth would they name two kids Eugene....Goerge Formean must have gotten this idea from them). Anyway, not sure if this helps but Phillip Cavanaugh Jr helped me out greatly. I took a breather from figuring this out but am going to jump into it shortly. If we are talking about the same person then Rita is my fathers aunt (Ronald Jubinville - ask her if she went to my grandmothers funeral back in 2000- Anna Jubinville?) If so, then maybe we can get Rita (I believe sh is still living, correct?) to write down a list of all her siblings and perhaps their kids and so forth for us....apparently this link is one of the ones missing from tree. My father is 60 this year but his father was one of the youngest and their was like a 20+ difference between he and his eldest sibling....needless to say by father didnt know too many of his aunts/uncles to well.

Feel free to contact me at danielle_yale@troweprice.com and we can figure this out and maybe get our part of the tree updated. Also- Phillip Cavanaugh, you can find his email on the message boards....he was a great help to me explaining where I fit in this tree and difused the confusion of "Eugene" for me.

Danielle Jubinville yale

This is a coincidence but my Grand Father was Arthur Jubinville. He was born November 15, 1900. He was married to Blanch (Forrest). They lived in Goffstown NH and together the raised 3 children, Elva (Melim), Gerry and Ronald my farther. Arthur passed away in Manchester NH of a heart condition in 1973. Arthur's farther was the 21st child of 23. I don't have much more information than that.

Hello Donald!

Nice to see your name again. I'm sorry I kind of lost touch. I have moved from Amherst to Norway, Maine in the last 2 years and so I was somewhat busy with that. It is great to see people making some connections here. I am still searching for the Eugene connection to Pierre and Marcelline but have had little luck with that. Since we corresponded a few years ago, I happened to do a search on the LDS website and they actually have a "Eugene Jubenville" listed as being born at West Springfield in 1846. Right year--no parents listed. I'm trying to get my mother to go down there and look that up to see what that's all about. You may recall that he said he was born at St. Valerien, P.Q. in 1846. In any case.
nice to see you again.

Phil

Danielle,
I am sorry to take so long to respond to you. Please forgive me. If your ggrandfather Eugene died in 1970 and was married to Minnie McDowell, then we are indeed related. His older brother, William (who started the insurance company in So. Hadley with his other brother Romeo), was my ggrandfather. He died in 1940. My mothers family is always talking about how much of a shame it was that they never really knew their cousins very well.
That Eugene's father Eugene is the one that I posted about because I cannot seem to make a connection to available information concerning his parentage. I can give you all the information that I do have, if this is your line and if you are interested. Let me know ok? And thank you for your response.

Phil

Fortunately I have a cousin that is also working on the family tree so we share our information.

So do you still live in the states or did your family move back to Canada?

My father is out of town so I have to wait to ask him but I do recall there are insurance companies there and I dont think Im related to them (as crazy as that sounds - that doesnt seem possible) but if I remember correctly, I was told that there were 2 different Jubinville families in that area. Once I talk to my dad I can fax you my immediate family info to see if that helps at all.

Don,

I can't believe what you have done for me with one quick message. You know, I looked at that childs' name and wondered about the "Ludger" thing. being the same amount of letters and somewhat similar. But I do not speak French and so I had no way of knowing. When we were corresponding 3 or so years ago, you must not have known this as you did not mention it.I have to think that if at that time, I was able to make it to the Springfield library, and speak further with Norman LaRose (their French-Canadian expert, who I am sure you must know), who had helped me trace Marie Lague's ancestry back to 1500, he might have told me this. But before I moved I never did that.
In any case, I can not thank you enough. My mother and her sister are absolutely thrilled and I am once again astonished by how in genealogy, one correspondence can make all the difference. In over 15 years of research, this has been such a huge mystery to me--and nevermind that my ancestors (God rest them) never knew this either. I am thrilled to have you corroborate this and I am so glad that I saw your name here and decided to say hello. I will email Darlene to make sure that she saw this too so she can amend the database.
I hope all is well at the Chicopee post office (right?) and once again, I can't thank you enough. If I may ever be of any help to you in any way, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best Regards,

Phil

Hi Phil. Yes we are related. Eugene who was married to Minnie is actually by great grandfather. My father told me my grandfather, Arthur, had a brother who was like 20 years older than he. I believe my grandfather was the 2nd youngest but unfortunately pasted away of a massive heart attack when I was like 5 in the early 70's.

When my grandfather Arthur pasted, I was told that his siblings didnt come to the house afterwards but tried asking "can I have this etc" so my dad pretty much told them to go to hell and has not spoken to them until a few of them showed up at my grandmothers funeral.

I havent called this person but my dad gave me this persons name (not sure if its a cousin or aunt of us). Her name is Audrey Langley and i think her mom was Doris. Do they sound familiar? I know we are related but what I wanted to do was call her and tell her I met her at my grandmothers funeral and ask her if she had like 2 hours of her time to write down all of her siblings and all of her grandfather or grandmother (whichever is the Jubinville) siblings etc to try and get to Eugene and Minnie.

I would love to get involved. Tell me what you need me to do if anything. Darlene Wadsworth put my section of the family in the proper format. If you give me your direct email or if you email me directly at danielle_yale@troweprice.com then I can forward you my direct family line and you can see better where I fit.

Thanks
Danielle Jubinville Yale

Marcelline PAQUET, 1847, Notre Dame, Montreal; and Hermine J-B who m. Jean-baptiste RACINE, 1879, St.Vincent-de-Paul, L'Ile-Jesus, Montreal.
Can anyone explain this new dit?
Was this dit created after M.Angelique QUEENNEVILLE ve Jean-Baptiste Jubinville, m. 2nd 1758, Sault-au-Recollet, Joseph BERTHIAUME?
I welcome all responses.

Hi All...
I am the grandson of a Rita Jubinville b. 1920 in Worcester, MA. Her father was one Eugene Jubinville born I think on May 24,1882. He died on July 24, 1978. He married one Apoline (Pauline) Lavallee around 1905. My family believes Eugene was born in Canada, but I have not yet been able to confirm this, or the identities of his parents. Does anyone have any information about this Eugene? Thanks in advance!

-Matt

Jubinville/Jubenville/Jubenvill/Jubainville Database

The search of the Jubenville/Jubinville Family Tree continues. We have gathered 8536 individuals into our database, all connected to Pierre Jubinville. We have a number of missing links in the USA. We welcome any information to update our database and would glady share information with you. I continue to work with Donald Jubinville(Montreal) We are hoping to have the website up and running again soon.
