John Chapman Judge b. 1797
John Chapman Judge was born in 1797 and joined the 62nd [Wiltshire] Regiment at the age of 16 when the regiment was stationed in Ireland.Almost immediately they left to fight with the Duke of Wellington. John returned to Ireland in 1817 as a consequence of the death of his father, Colonel John Judge. They lived at "Gageborough' [many spellings], parish of Ardnorcher/Horseleap, King's County [now Offaly]. J.C. Judge had a brother Arthur. I am trying to establish whether this particular Arthur Judge was ARTHUR GEORGE Judge who lived in Athy, Co. Kildare from about 1830.
