Judge Genealogy

Looking for any information on Thomas Judge born in Ireland in 1880 and died in nebraska in 1899. He married Catherine Ferguson whom also was born in Ireland. Thomas got his naturalization papers in 1867 at Pittston, Luzerne Co., Pa. Looking for help on his parents or any siblings. Thomas & Catherine Ferguson (or could be O'Callihan) had eight children, Joseph, Elizabeth, Thomas F., Mary G., John Patrick, James J., Michael and Francis J. Francis J. was the only one of the siblings to be married. Francis married Rose Etta Berney. To my knowledge, all of Thomas Judge's kids were born in Pittston, Pa. between 1870-1880.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
I'm trying to find any ancestors or decendants of Thomas Daniel Judge born 1901 from Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. His wifes name is Win, which is all we know about her. He moved to the Yorkshire area and that is all the information I have of him and his wife.

I'm also looking for information of Fanny Judge (Thomas's sister) who married ? Worsley, and moved to the Yorkshire area.

Next is Mabel Judge who married ? Ridgeway, they had 2 children Violet & Joan, again I believe they moved to the Yorkshire area.

Lastly there is Phyliss Judge who married a John Murray, they had 3 children I believe, Ralph, Ivor and Anita.

Any help in tracing these family ancestors would be appreciated.

Regards
Linda

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Linda

NEWFOUNDLAND,Ireland,USa update,2008

Just to let everyone know that in 2008 my address is still current and I still want all genealogy information on ANY Judge connected in ANY way to Newfoundland at ANY time in history. Almost all Judges in Nfld. history are related to me(my mother's name was Judge). I have compiled about 71 pages on all Judges of Nfld. and happy to exchange information. I still most especially need to find ANY Judge who moved from Ireland to Nfld. before 1818,or indeed from ANY other country to Nfld. That will be about 98% certain to be my ancestor.
Also, since my GGF,Patrick Judge of Isle au Valen,Placentia Bay,Nfld.,married my GGM,Mary Ellen Miller, a native American descent girl, presumably Mi'Kmaq, about 1857,I am interested in any information on that Miller or other related native American family.
There are many of our Judge family descendants(from Nfld.) now living in USA. I'd very much like to add you to my Judge Families of Newfoundland document and of course send you a copy in return.
Obviously many other Judges in USA,with Irish ancestry, would be related to my Nfld. ones, but like you,I don't know which. Perhaps we'll all have to go for a DNA test.
Thanks.Ward.wardgreene@hotmail.com

Siblings for Patric Judge or Bridget Giblin?

I am looking for any sibling of Patric Judge or Bridget Giblin mentioned on this board as immigrating w/10 children in 1832. My gggrandfather Patrick Giblin immigrated around 1832, with his wife Margaret Obrien, to Vermont, and may have come into the country via Canada. Also immigrating at the same time (1832-33) were Patrick Marlow and wife Bridget Mary Judge. They also may have come in thru Canada. The Marlows were from County Leitrim but I have no info on the counties of origin for the Giblins, Judges or Obriens. Any links? - Candace

NEWFOUNDLAND ,from Ireland b efore 1838

Judge is a very rare surname in Newfoundland and almost all over past 200 years are related.I have so far compiled 70 pages on Judge Families of Newfoundland and happy to exchange information.
I am very specifically looking for ANY man or family named JUDGE (or Breheny, same thing in Gaelic), who moved from Ireland to Newfoundland before 1838,as we have some scant records of the family in Nfld. in 1837. Any such Judge you find is at least 98% likely to be my ancestor.
Standard names in the family over past 200 years have been Peter Joseph Judge,Joseph Peter,Francis Joseph,William Patrick, and similar combinations, and Margaret for the girls in all families. Obviously also have the very common names of Patrick,Mary,Bridget, etc. but they don't help much. Peter,Joseph, and Francis are not that common in Judge families for some reason,so if you have those as a tradition in your family,no matter where you live(Ireland,Britain,Scranton,PA,etc.),please contact me and compare notes. Most likely mine came from Connaught area of Ireland,Sligo,Roscommon, etc. There is always the possibility they came to Nfld. after first being in England or USA, Bermuda,Quebec, etc. My GF,William Patrick Judge, used to regularly go to Bermuda to work as a carpenter in early 1900s.Was there a family connection there in the past?
A lot of my Judges also moved to USA and Canada(Nfld. was a separate country until 1949),so if your parents or grandparents, cousins, etc. came from Nfld. in,say,1920-1960,or indeed any other year, also please contact me.
Thanks.Ward. wardgreene@hotmail.com

Judge family -Shelbyville and Indianapolis, Indiana

James Judge, born about 1838, married Mary Ellen McBride, in Shelbyville, Indiana, Dec 20, 1861. Their children were Mary, born 11 Feb 1862, Margaret Ellen born 6 Nov 1868, Catherine Ann born 30 Aug 1870, and twin boys, Daniel Thomas and William Joseph, born May 14, 1872. The James Judge she married fought in the Civil War, but as yet, have not been able to find a record of this James Judge in Civil War records.
James died after he returned from the war, of something he acquired during the war. Mary Ellen remarried a Patrick Morley or Marlow in Dec 1873. I do not know of the parish which they were married in as their marriage certificate is signed by a missionary, in Shelby County - probably around Shelbyville. Mary Ellen's daughter, Margaret married a Monaghan. Looking for Judge connections in Shelbyville or Indianapolis, as well as any McBride connections in Shelbyville area.

Judges/Brehonys of Sligo

I've read some of the postings regarding Judges in Sligo but don't find any that relate to my ancestors.
My grandfather was Thomas Judge, son of John Judge and Annie Langan. Thomas was born in 1882, allegedly in Ballymote, County Sligo, but can't find any record of his birth there, or info on any other family members. He emigrated to US in 1903. He had brothers John and Matthew and a sister Ella, all of whom came to the USA in the early 1900s. 10 other siblings supposedly stayed behind in Ireland.
He may have been listed as Brehony since we know that was the family name earlier, but he always went by Judge, even on his emigration papers which I do have.
Any info much appreciated.

Thanks,

Maria Siobhan Judge
mia_mia72@yahoo.com

JUDGE, USA, Newfoundland,Ireland

My Judges came from Ireland to Newfoundland(late 1700s,early 1800s) and USA(not sure to where, maybe Scranton). Almost all Judges in Nfld. over past 200 years are related to me. Many moved from Nfld. to USA,especially Boston and then some moved from there in 20th century.Other cousins moved from Ireland to USA in late 1700s and very early 1800s. No idea where they went.
Scranton,PA would be a good geuss since so many Judges there.
Common names in the family are William Patrick Judge,Patrick William,Peter Joseph,Joseph Peter, William Joseph(anyone notice a trend here?),plus Jeremiah in 1800s, plus Margaret,Anne, Elizabeth,Hannah, and of course Mary and Bridget. In 20th century,Rodger or Roger came in as a name through Pike family in Nfld.
If your Judges have any connection to Newfoundland at any time in history, please contact me.I have so far compiled 61 pages on Nfld. Judge families. Thanks.Ward. wardgreene@hotmail.com

I am looking for information on Michael Judge who married Elizabeth Ramey in Sept 1937 in Montgomery County Kentucky. I have a history of my judge roots complied by my grandmother who states that "Michael Judge was born Oct 5 1809 in Boston Mass. Do not know his parents names. Have been told they came from ireland". He died May 12 1893 in Buzzard Roost, Nicholas, Kentucky, USA. (Yep thats where I grew up)

I am really at a wall here trying to find his parents:

1). Cant find any birth information on him in Mass or also in Rhode Island which was also a possible place.
2). I was hoping the marriage certificate would have the info - but the court house burned in the war.

I went to the Mt Zion cemetary where he and Elizabeth were buried and took pictures of their tombstones and if anyone who is related would email me I can send them a pic. Thanks in advance.

I recently interviewed my 88-year-old Aunt Catherine about her parents, Michael Judge and Nora Craeby, who immigrated separately to South Chicago from County Mayo, Ireland, met and raised six children in Chicago. The offspring were Mary (Nazy), Catherine (Prendergast), Margaret (Thill), Noreen (Meyer), Tom and Joe. I put together a brief history of the family ending about 1950. I can e-mail a full copy in Quark Express (Macintosh) or simply the text to near or distant relatives who might be interested.

NEED HELP WITH JUDGE FAMILY, JOHN AND JAMES

Hello everyone

Can anyone help me find our Judge ancestors? John Judge and brother James Judge came to Ontario Canada about 1833 from Ireland. We have quite a lot of information on the family here in Canada but have never been able to find where they came from in Ireland. John was born circa 1795 and James circa 1800. John was married to Jane Henderson and their first child, Catherine was born in Ireland circ 1832.

We know they are Protestant so wondered if anyone can give us some ideas of which part of Ireland to search and where/what port they would sail from. We don't know even, if they came directly to Canada or via USA. You can tell, I am sure, that we need some guidance and/or help.

Will share our research with anyone connected to the family.

Thanks for any help
Carole
Southern Ontario, Canada
I am related to almost every Judge family I have been able to find in Newfoundland over past 200 years. Also many of my own Judge family(Point Verde) have moved to USA over the years. If you have any Judge connection to Nfld. at any time in history, please contact me. I am making up a JUDGE FAMILIES of NEWFOUNDLAND family tree, currently over 40 pages, and would like to add you to it if you have Nfld. Judge ancestry.
Also if anyone knows of any connectiom between Nfld. Judges and those in other places, plese let m,e know. Also ,since Judge is a very rare surname in Nfld.,if you have the name of just one Judge who moved from Ireland to Nfld. about 200 years ago, then you have almost certainly found my ancestor. Thanks,Ward. wardgreene@hotmail.com

Judge Family Ireland-Canada-Kansas-Mi-Pa

If you are tracing the Scranton, Pa Judges, do you know if any descend from William Judge and Catherine Kelly? I noticed in the cherry taking notice posted on here, one of the culprits is named Tigue. The son of William Judge (Thomas) married Dora Tigue or Tighe. William also had a son Daniel who was killed in an Indian uprising while they were in Kansas or on their way to Kansas. What I don't know about William Judge is if he had other children. If he did, did they move to Pennsylvania. William and Catherine Judge came to Canada in 1830 with a six month old baby named Thomas. When Thomas got married in the 1850s, the parents left him to run the farm in Canada and they went to Kansas (Topeka) with at least one son. (Daniel) By 1880 William was dead but Catherine was still in Kansas and could have remarried. If any of this connects with your Scranton Judge family, I would be interested.
