My GG grandmother, Anna Catherine Kranzmann Gronemeyer, was born in Germany (Prussia) 13 Dec 1843 and immigrated to the United States about 1851 and married in St. Louis, Missouri on 22 Feb 1863. She had five sisters who married. I only know their married last names - Mrs. Jurgens, Mrs. Eichler, Mrs. Ahrens, Mrs, Heitman, and Mrs. Schlieper. I am searching for information on the Kranzmann sisters.
Paul Greaves, rpgreaves@prodigy.net

Jill Juergens...
I happened upon your message regarding the Juergens' family
in the Carrol Iowa area. You mentioned an Evert Juergens that died in 1911. I'm sure he was my Grandfather. His youngest son, Evert Wendahl (born 1910) was my father. I have info regarding most of that generation, and some family lore. I have posession of both Bibles (German language) of Evert and Antke Gerdes Janssen with their names and dates in tact. Let me know if I can help clarify our heritage

Juergens

There are suppose to be a great number of us Juergens' all over the Northern US. Are you in relation to the Juergens branch that had there family reunion in White Fish, Montana I think would be 2 years ago now? My grandfather is Ernest Juergens one of 11 children or so.( Harold, Adolf, Ernest, Minnie, Marlene, Lois, are the only ones I can name off the top of my head) They were of German decent, and first settled mostly as dairy farmers in Wisconsin. A few were in Indiana. Later many of those kids moved out west here to Washington, again mostly as farmers. I have a copy of the family tree book somewhere. Could you give me more info on some of your older family members. I can look them up and see if there is any info on them. And maybe get you hooked up with a family Tree Book of your own. This side of the Juergens family does one every few years or so. Good Luck!

Jurgens of Hannover

We are both chasing Jurgens of Hannover. Mine go back to Hoboken NJ with John Dietrich Jurgens born in Hannover. I believe his parents were Charles and Margaretha. Thier son Henry lived a few blocks from my John in Hoboken at the exact same time. Henry was a Grocer and there were several Jurgens in Illinois that were Grocers. My GGGparents family disappeared around 1900 when my GGfather moved his children to upper state NY. His wife left family at that time, although I do not think she died. Her Mother and Brothers also disappeared. Maybe they all went West. Email me Marques_DSounde@msn.com

Sue, my husband's cousin down in Texas sent for it. I assume it came from the Census Bureau for the year 1880 and 1890 because I have two (he made copies for me). I guess that's the only way because I've tried looking for it on line but nothing ever shows up regarding the Chicago census for those years. I suppose you could write the county of where your ancestors were and see where you could get the census. Not sure. If you need more info, let me know. Kallie

Juergens family from Missouri

Just thought I'd post again since it's been awhile. I am looking for the parents or siblings of Clemens Juergens b. 1809 who married Pauline "Mary" Menzel in 1838 in Pennsylvania.
Their children are: Julius, John, Andres, Clemens Jr., J.J.,
Flotho Doctor (?), Emilie J., Conrad Henry, Paulina Julia,
Herman and Unia Amelia. First five born in Penn. the rest born in either Illinois or Missouri. They joined a German-Dutch wagon train going to Missouri, go waylaid in Illinois for a while and finally settled in Maries County, Missouri in about 1850, and were considered the first "German Catholic Settlers" in that county. It is said in our family that Clemens
came from "Westphalia" Prussia and his wife came from "Menzel" Prussia. Can anyone connect? Thanks Kay
