I am researching Confederate graves in the state of Georgia. Can someone verify which of the following men served as a Pvt in Company B, Cobb's Legion Georgia Infantry?

1. Daniel Bourdeaux Juhan born 25 Dec 1828, died 30 Nov 1920. Buried in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, Georgia.

2. Daniel Bordeaux Juhan born 9 March 1845, died 28 Feb 1908. Buried in Zoar Methodist Church Cemetery in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Services for J. Walker Juhan, 39, Edmond, will be
Wednesday in the First Baptist Church, Lexington,
under the direction of Conner-Roberts Funeral Home,
Purcell. He died Sunday.

He was born in Lexington and had been an employe
of Oklahoma Transportation Co. He was a member of
the 45th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma National
Guard.

Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs John W.
Juhan, Noble, and a sister, Lola Embry, Tulia, Texas.

Burial in Lexington Cemetery.

The only relative I know, Rose Juhans Jones is in a nursing home in Milledgeville. My grandfather and his family left Georgia and moved to Washington DC.

the shirts read james and juhan. i know mary floyd had something to do with it. there is family in detroit mich. thats
trying to do a big family tree. i know of lizzie juhan i meet
her through my father jimmie lee james and robert floyd.
and a great aunt name annie lee(aunt pie) cummings. she is

Yes, I did know that. What I am trying to find is information about Reason and Charlotte's son William Walter who married Lillie Nichols. She was a sister to Anderson's wife, Rosa. Another of Rosa and Lillie's sisters, Lovie, married S. Alexander Juhan(son of Lewis Alexander b.1836, son of Francis).

You may already have found your answer as your post is almost a year old. But, I have annotated in my notes that Charlotte G Juhan, daughter of Francis P Juhan married Reason D Johnson and their son Anderson Johnson married Rosa Nichols. Sorry to say that I cannot tell you where this info came from.

I am looking for information about the Juhan(s) family from Milledgeville Georgia.

My Grandfather was born Johnnie Lee Juhans on December 17, 1908 to John and Emma Juhans. He had brothers and sisters named: Lillie Mae, Jesse, Mathew, Clara, and Richard. The family left Georgia and settled in Washington, DC, New York and Pennsylvania.

Thanks for posting! I am a Juhan descendant from Francis Pheasant Juhan's daughter, Charlotte. She married Reason Johnson in 1866. Two of Charlotte and Reason's children, Anderson and William Walter married girls named Nichols. Anderson married Rose B. Nichols in 1886. I have traced Rose to her parents, Henry Nichols and Mary Kilpatrick. When Mary Kilpatrick Nichols died in 1916 her obituary stated she was survived by three daughters, Mrs. G. W. McElroy, Mrs. S. A. Juhan, and Mrs. W.W. Johnson(two sons also, Newton and Henry R. III). Rose was already dead(my grandfather, Carl W. born in 1894 said he was very young, I think she died around 1905??). Seeing two more Nichols daughters married to Johnson and Juhan got me started on finding more about these Nichols. Anderson had a brother, William Walter, he married a Lillie Nichols in 1892. S. A. Juhan(son of Lewis A. and Emily Humphries) married Lovie Nichols in 1891. The 1880 census in Phillips Dist of Dekalb County shows two other Nichols girls with "L" names, born in 1874 and 1876. The 1920 census in Rockbridge shows the S. A. Juhan family and Lovie appears to fit the description. Do you know anything more about Lovie? Was Lovie her real name? Any help is appreciated. I can share more Juhan info, too, if you like, I've got personal copies of the History of Gwinnett County and will gladly do look-ups. I live not too far from Gwinnett County and I've been to the Historical Society numerous times, there is a lot of info there.

Lynn, I have come to find out that S.A. Juhan, and Lovie Nichols Juhan, were my Great-Great-Grand Parents. My Grandfather's name was Paul Alexender Juhan, and my Father was Paul A. Juhan Jr. my father does not remember a sister, but says that his grandmother had a btother named Romy (not real sure about the spelling). But S.A & Lovie lived in Gwinnett County, and the Juhan's owned a lot of land near where the Anniston Bridge is in Centerville , Ga. And there is a JUHAN RD.around in that area. The property was down around where the YELLOW RIVER and, Anniston Road intersect. I hope this helps you some, and please let me know if I can be of futher help. Gary

I am looking for a Paul Juhan, child of S.A. Juhan and a Lovie Nichols, married in Gwinnett in 1891. I am trying to find out if Lovie Nichols is the sister of Rosa Nichols who married Anderson Johnson, a son of Charlotte Juhan. Please contact me if you know anything about them.

Yes I am a JUHAN. My fathers name is Paul Alexander Juhan Jr., of course his father was the senior. I grew up in Stone Mountain,Georgia. But now live in Snellville,Ga.There are a few JUHAN families in this area, but the only ones related to me are my family.

Have you tried Marion Payzant's, The Payzant And Allied Jess and Juhan Families in North America. It is in the New England Historic Genealogical Society Circulating Library, and was published in 1970.

I am a descendant of Louis Payzant, Sr. who had Phillip (1746), Mary (1748), Rev. John (1749), Louis (1751), and Lisette (1756). Mary m. Juhan; Lisette m. Jess. The five children all lived with their mother in Falmouth, NS at one time or the other. The family line is not complete for Phillip Payzant.

The Juhan name comes from Switzerland, and French-speaking. John James Juhan married Mary Payzant in Falmouth, NS 1764. He was born near Bern, Switzerland ca 1740 and from a French Huguenot family. Lived in Halifax, NS before moving to Boston, MA. The family name comes up in Philadelphia and Charleston, SC.
