This William Jump of Pendleton County, KY, wrote a will (1805; proven
8 Feb 1808) in which he requests his stepfather Isaac Caldwell to take
his two sons John and William Jump. In Isaac Caldwell's will
(14 August 1811; proven May 1816), he leaves to "his beloved wife Rachel
Caldwell" and "her grandson John Jump" most of his property. John Jump
is only instructed to give a certain value to Isaac, Andrew, and David Seeright,
his first cousins and the grandsons of Rachel Jump Caldwell through her
daughter Mary Jump Seeright, wife of William Seeright (married 23 June 1791).
I've seen many individuals list William Jump's first spouse as Rachel _________
and his second wife as Margaret Beard or Margaret Wilson (one or the other
surname is apparently her maiden name ). Does anyone have documentation
showing that William's first wife was also a Rachel, or is that first wife's name
being confused with William's mother Rachel?
I would appreciate any input.
Thank you.
