Hi Judy
I have the book "Jump Genealogy An American Family From Colonial Times" a large part of this book deals with John Jump Sr. from Kentucky.
The Jump family goes back to a William Jump who was transported from England to Maryland in 1664.
I have gathered alot of documents from the Maryland State Archives and from FamilySearch.com.
I'm seeking the parents of my John Jump born in Maryland in 1797 and moved to Ohio at a very early age. He married Love Nixon in Belmont Co and rasied his family there.
Just when I think I've found his parents I find a will or land deed that proves that false.
The best place for you to start would be a the county genealogy or historcial groups in Grant Co. Kentucky.
I find that early land deeds contain alot of useful info and proof.
I believe I have a copy of John Jump Sr. application for a pension for serving in the Rev. War.
If I can help you in anyway just let me know.
Jean
